Phil Henry 2012

Phil Henry is an ABC-certified Prosthetist-Orthotist with more than 3 years of clinical and professional experience. Phil earned a B.S. in Health and Human Performance in Health Promotion from Fort Hays State University in Hays Kansas in 2008. During his time at Fort Hays State University, he spent volunteer hours in the Orthotic and Prosthetic field, where he developed a passion to help people with gait deviations and restore something that was physically or visually lost. He also was able to work at Horizon Orthotic & Prosthetic Experience, Inc. (HOPE) as a technician during his summer breaks to gain knowledge and experience in the fabrication of orthotic and prosthetic devices.


Upon completion of his undergraduate degree from Fort Hays State University, Phil was accepted into the Orthotic Practitioner program at Hartford University in Newington, CT. After completing orthotic school at Newington Certificate Program in Orthotics, he served his residency at HOPE as beginning in June of 2009. After passing his boards in December 2010 through American Board for Certification in orthotics and prosthetics, Phil became a Certified Orthotist. He then returned to the Newington Certificate Program in Prosthetics in 2012.  Following his residnecy in Prosthetics at HOPE in Kansas City, MO, he completed his board exams.  He has continued his career with HOPE as a staff Prosthetist-Orthotist at the Independence, MO location.
Phil has done orthotic management with infantile, juvenile, adolescent, athletic, and elderly patients with ranging pathologies and gait deviations. He is highly skilled in custom-designed orthotic devices in both upper and lower extremities. He enjoys giving presentations to other member of the healthcare community and the team approach to the field.
Phil is excited to be a part of the highly skilled and experienced team at HOPE. He looks forward to continuing providing high quality care in the Kansas City Metro area.
